Mushroom salan or curry– People likes Mushroom in many different forms and actually I am one of them. From Soups to vegetable it has been on the dining plate in many forms. Due to such variety, we decided why not this time we should give you a recipe related to my favourite Mushrooms. Ohh I love mushrooms so much as they are good for health as well. So here is one of my most favourite recipes – Mushroom Salan/Curry, which can be served with Chapatis, idlis or you can have it directly. So get ready to go in the kitchen to make the delicious Mushroom Salan/Curry.

Ingredients to make Mushroom Salan/Curry

  1. Tomato – 1- cut it in 4 pieces.
  2. Potato- 1 (medium size- chopped it into pieces of square size).
  3. Mushroom- 8 to 10 (1/4th chopped).
  4. Baby Corn – chopped into 1-1 inch pieces.
  5. Red chilli powder- 3 tablespoons
  6. Coriander powder- 1 tablespoon
  7. Turmeric Powder- Half tablespoon
  8. Ginger paste- Half tablespoon
  9. Salt- As per taste.

To make Paste:- We need following Ingredients

  1. Coconut: Grated 1 cup.
  2. Anise/Sauff– 1 tablespoon
  3. Cinnamon- half inch
  4. poppy seed- 2
  5. Chickpea Lentil – 1 tablespoon
  6. Cloves- 2
  7. Bay leaf- 1

For Tempering:

  1. sesame oil- 6 tablespoons.
  2. Mustard seeds- Half spoon
  3. Anise- half spoon.
  4. Curry leaves- 7

Method to Make Our Recipe:

Grated coconut, fennel, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom poppy roasted gram lentils and bay leaves with a little water to make a paste and keep the paste aside.

Heat 5 tablespoons of sesame oil in a vessel, then add mustard seeds. Add fennel and 4 curry leaves.

Mix ginger paste.

Stir the mixture for sometime. Now add chopped tomato , salt, turmeric to it , mix it well.

Stir the mixture till the tomatoes get hot.

Add mushrooms to it and keep the stove on till they get properly cooked.

Add some red chilli and coriander powder to it.

After that add some potato pieces and baby corn with a small cup of water and let the mixture gets cooked.

Heat sesame oil separately, put red chillies and remaining curry leaves pieces in hot oil. Cook for a few seconds. Now add this to the dish.
