He got married at a very early age.

They say that by the age of 17, he attained self realisation or enlightenment.

He could tell anything about the person just by looking at him and that was always true. He knew everything.

After the hard searching for about 15 years, his father came to know that his son is in some district of Uttar Pradesh.

So he went there and requested him to come back home. He had 2 sons and a daughter.

During his stay at home, he was completely devoted to social activities.

He was a Hindu Guru and a great devotee of Lord Hanuman.

Neem Karoli baba and Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs the founder of Apple company visited India in 1974 to meet Maharaj-Ji, the name given to Neem Karoli Baba by his devotees.

This is the time when Neem Karoli Baba’s came into limelight of the foreigners.

Though Steve jobs never met Maharaj-Ji, because before reaching to the ashram in Kainchi at foothills of Himalayas Neem Karoli Baba had attained Samadhi.

Steve jobs was going through tough times before visiting the Neem Karoli Baba’s Ashram but after visiting his life took 180 degree turn and everything changed in his favour.

Many people say that the reason for naming the company’s name Apple was because Baba liked Apple’s.

Neem Karoli Baba and Mark Zuckerberg

Once again Baba’s temple got media attention when the Founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg mentioned his visit to neem karoli baba’s temple in one of his meeting with Prime Minister of India- Narendra Modi.

He said that when Facebook was going through tough times, he got to know about Maharaj-Ji.

So he planned his visit to his ashram for 1 day, but he said that he stayed there for about 2 days and shared many miraculous experiences during his stay in the ashram.

There are many stories about the miracles performed by him.

An Incident In NEEB KARORI VILLAGE

One of the famous story about him is that , Once he boarded the train without ticket so the ticket checker said him to get off the train.

As soon as the ticket checker boarded off baba-ji from the train, the train would not start again. Even after continuous efforts from the locopilot, the train was not starting.

So people suggested the conductor to take that baba on the train.

MaharaJ-Ji agreed to be back on the train on a condition that railway station be built at Neeb Karori Village.

As the devotees had to travel on foot for a long distance to reach him.

With the blessings of Him the train started and later baba spent many days in Neeb Karori Village.

Though not many books were published on him when he was alive, so whatever can be known about him is from the people who stayed with him

Ram Dass His Disciple

Richard Alpert an american psychologist visited MaharaJ-Ji in 1967. He found his guru in Neem Karoli Baba soon after that MaharaJ-JI named him Ram-Dass means a servant of god.

The two main Ashram at Vrindavan and Kainchi were built when he was alive.

He spent his last days at Kainchi Ashram in Nainital, at foothills of Himalayas.

He left his body on September 10, 1973.On his death bed he last asked for ganga water. His statue is consecrated at Vrindavan as he chooses this land for his samadhi.

Many temples were built after him at Texas, USa and Lucknow ,India.

His personal belongings are still there in the Vrindavan Ashram.

If Anyone is planning to visit Kainchi Ashram prior permission is required to be taken from the Ashram. As the ashram is closed for most of the time due to severe cold in that region.

One can stay for a maximum of three days.

Kainchi ashram situated at 1400 m above sea level. It is located on Nainital-Almora road, Uttaranchal,India. 17 KM from Nainital and 9 KM from bhowali. One can take a bus ride directly to ashram from these places.

On 15 June Pratistha day is celebrated every year, one can attend his celebration and get prasad. About 1 lakh devotees attend this function.

Personally I would like to suggest everyone to get there once, it is not mandatory that one should be his devotee to visit his ashram.

If you are simply in search of some peaceful and silent place this ashram is the perfect place.

This place has some kind of energy which I felt when I visited there. I think this may be the reason this place had attracted the persons like Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs the founders of Multi-Millionaire companies.

To experience that one must visit the ashram.

Neem Karoli Baba may not be there in his physical form but one can experience his life-energies by simply sitting in the ashram. His aura is everywhere there.
